CSE-H21 – Industrial 2-Port RS232 Ethernet Device Server
CSE-H21 is a 2-port industrial serial-to-Ethernet device server that gives legacy RS232 equipment seamless TCP/IP connectivity. It enables remote monitoring and control over LAN/Internet without changing your existing system, while maintaining stable performance in noisy industrial environments thanks to electrically isolated RS232 ports and surge protection.

CSE-H21 serial tunneling modes (TCP / UDP)
CSE-H21 bridges RS232 data to TCP/IP so you can extend serial communication distance and access devices over the network. Choose a mode based on your topology: passive listening (TCP Server), active outbound connection (TCP Client), flexible session control via AT commands, or UDP for connectionless block transfer.
- • TCP Server: the device listens on a local port and accepts incoming TCP connections.
- • TCP Client: the device actively connects to a predefined remote host/port.
- • AT Command mode: server/client behavior controlled like a modem (flexible configuration).
- • UDP mode: connectionless transfer; useful for multi-host scenarios.
Security & access restriction
For industrial deployments and remote access over the Internet, CSE-H21 offers encrypted tunnels and access restrictions. You can enable SSL/TLS or SSH for secure sessions, and restrict access using IP/MAC filtering and passwords.

Configuration, monitoring & debugging
Configure network/serial parameters quickly using ezManager (Windows). For remote monitoring, you can check status via TELNET and use debugging features (including remote debug messages) to speed up troubleshooting in the field. Firmware can also be upgraded via the network.

Separator (packet framing) & Virtual COM port (ezVSP)
Many serial protocols are message-based, not continuous streams. The separator feature helps group serial bytes into complete packets before forwarding. For Windows applications that expect a local COM port, the ezVSP driver provides a Virtual COM port mapped over TCP/IP—often avoiding any software changes.
