CSC-H64 is a Serial to Ethernet/WLAN converter that adds robust networking to your serial equipment. It provides 4 serial ports (selectable RS232/RS422/RS485) and a frame delimiter (separator) for packet fragmentation. With Soft AP mode, you can connect directly from a smartphone or laptop when no access point is available.

WLAN made easy (Infrastructure, Ad-hoc, Soft AP)

CSC-H64 supports common Wi-Fi topologies for practical field deployment. Use Infrastructure mode with a standard Access Point, Ad-hoc for small peer-to-peer setups, or Soft AP to connect directly when there’s no AP available (ideal for commissioning). To enable WLAN, a compatible USB Wireless LAN dongle (Ralink RT3070/RT5370 chipset) is required.

  • Soft AP provides quick setup access from phone/laptop (built-in simple DHCP behavior in Soft AP mode).
  • Note: WLAN and Ethernet are not used at the same time—choose wired LAN or WLAN depending on the installation.
  • WLAN security options include WPA-Enterprise (EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, PEAP) and WPA/WPA2 PSK modes.

4 ports with selectable RS232 / RS422 / RS485

Each of the 4 DB9 male serial ports can be configured as RS232, RS422, or RS485. This makes CSC-H64 ideal for consolidating multiple meters, controllers, instruments, or terminals into one network node. RS422/RS485 lines include embedded biasing resistors and TVS protection to improve robustness in industrial wiring.

  • Serial speeds: 300 bps to 230,400 bps; flow control: RTS/CTS or Xon/Xoff.
  • RS232 signals include RXD/TXD/RTS/CTS and DTR (Always ON).
  • Great for multi-drop RS485 networks (meters, building automation, industrial sensors).

Serial tunneling modes + packet framing

Choose the communication mode that fits your topology: TCP Server (passive), TCP Client (active), AT Command mode for flexible control, or UDP for block-based transfer. For message-based serial protocols, the separator feature helps group serial bytes into meaningful packets before sending them over the network.

  • Modes: TCP Server (T2S), TCP Client (COD), AT Command (ATC), UDP (U2S).
  • Telnet COM Port Control option (RFC2217) for remote serial control/management.
  • Extra options: TCP Server/Client combined mode, and “Send MAC address” identification option.

Configuration, monitoring & Virtual COM

Configure and monitor CSC-H64 using ezManager (Windows) via network/serial, or use Telnet login for remote status and session checks. For legacy software, ezVSP creates a Virtual COM port so applications can communicate over TCP/IP as if the device were locally connected. ezTerm is available for simple TCP/IP communication tests.

  • ezManager: configuration + monitoring (network or serial/USB setup).
  • ezVSP: Virtual COM port driver for Windows.
  • ezTerm: quick socket test utility for commissioning and troubleshooting.

CSC-H64 is a serial to Ethernet/WLAN converter that enables your serial devices to carry robust networking capabilities. This serial to Ethernet/WLAN converter offers 4 serial ports interfaced with RS232/RS422/RS485 and a frame delimiter for packet fragmentation. CSC-H64 comes preloaded with Soft AP so it can simply be linked to any devices with WLAN by operating as an AP. It eases network construction with mobile devices such as smart phones, tablet PCs and laptops where an AP is unavailable.

Ensuring reliable operation with industrial temperature range of -40°C~+85°C (without a USB WLAN adapter), along with an over-voltage, reverse-voltage and over current protection circuit, makes this Serial to Ethernet/WLAN converter suitable for harsh industrial environments.
